1. The 'Paradigm Plug' connects directly to the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.
2. DO NOT insert the 'Paradigm Plug' into the cigarette socket whilst either the ignition is switch on OR the motor is running. In other words, the key must be in the OFF position PRIOR to installing the 'Paradigm Plug'.
3. After installing you may start the car. Check that the green light on the 'Paradigm Plug' is showing. If the green light is not showing possible causes are a faulty socket or a broken fuse. Check both and re-install.
4. Note that the circuitry in the 'Paradigm Plug' will 'adapt' itself to the FIRST vehicle it is installed in. If moving the 'Paradigm Plug' to another vehicle, results may vary since the technology is designed to program itself to the first vehicle of installation. Therefore we recommend that the vehicle in which the 'Paradigm Plug' was FIRST installed remains with that vehicle.
5. The 'Paradigm Plug' is suitable for vehicles where the cigarette socket is located either in front of the driver or in the console between the driver and the passenger. If the cigarette socket is further back it is best to re-install the socket in the positions mentioned. Therefore ideally if you took a tape measure, the cigarette socket will be around 1 - 1.5 metres from the Alternator or Generator.
6. For vehicles where the engine is at the rear of the vehicle, the cigarette socket must be installed nearer the engine, again around 1 - 1.5 metres from the Alternator or Generator.
7. Installation is correct and connection of the cigarette socket is correct if the 'Paradigm Plug' turns off when the ignition and key is switched to the OFF position. If the cigarette socket does not turn off when the ignition key is switched off, modifications need to be made to the cigarette socket so that it does, however this would only be in rare occasions.
8. Normal shelf life WITHOUT changing the 'Paradigm Plug' to different vehicles will be 5 Years or more.
Some Simple Observation Techniques
1. Prior to installing the 'Paradigm Plug' start your vehicle and listen to the engine.
2. Install the 'Paradigm Plug' as per installation instructions above. Listen to the engine. It will sound much smoother. (Also vehicles that are difficult to start will start much easier).
3. If you do not have power steering you will know how the vehicle turns. Now after installing the 'Paradigm Plug', you will notice that the steering is much lighter when driving.
4. Acceleration will be much easier. Just a little touch to the accelerator pedal will show that pick-up of the vehicle is better.
5. Drive up that hill or mountain and notice that gear changes are much less frequent than previously, or not at all.
6. Look at your headlights with and without the 'Paradigm Plug' installed. Now, install the 'Paradigm Plug' and look at your headlights. You will see the noticeable difference in their brightness.
How to Test Fuel Savings
Please Note: The 'Paradigm Plug' is not designed for testing in 'City Conditions'. By this we mean that these conditions are nearly always 'stop - start' and are certainly not classified as 'consistent', 'constant' or reasonably 'uninterupted' driving. Best fuel consumption readings will be found by open road travelling (or otherwise known as highway driving) at normal highway speeds and is why we recommend the following testing strategy. Note however that all other benefits of the 'Paradigm Plug' will be felt and seen in ALL driving condions. See or 'How It Works Link HERE
1. Fill your fuel tank full to the top
2. Set your TRIP METER to '0' and drive approximately 150 - 200km's on a freeway or highway WITHOUT the 'Paradigm Plug' installed.
3. Take note of the exact number of kilometres, fill your tank completely full again TAKING NOTE OF THE NUMBER OF LITRES OF FUEL and install the 'Paradigm Plug'. RESET your TRIP METER to '0' again and drive back to your original destination along the same route..
4. When you reach your original destination, FILL you tank completely again. Now you will clearly note in a short period of time exactly what your savings are.
5. Great results will also be seen with trucks that are carrying loads.
Some Commonsense Checks to Ensure Optimum Use of the 'Paradigm Plug'
1. Your cigarette lighter socket must not be loose
2. The battery poles must be clean and the battery fully charging
3. Your alternator/generator or dynamo must be normal good working order. Check or change the carbon brushes if needed.
4. Clean your air filter(s) and change your oil lubricant
5. Do NOT DIRECT CONNECT. In other words the 'Paradigm Plug' must disconnect when you turn off the ignition.
6. We've had references now from different people and in some cases The Paradigm Plug may take up to 8 weeks for ALL the benefits to be seen due to constant changing conditions experienced when driving.
Eg; fuel quality can change, road conditions and terrain are variable, driving style is variable, weather is variables, etc.
The engines computer, (ECU), is constantly making changes to make sure it operates with a specific air/fuel ratio. When fuel quality changes or weather conditions change, the engines computer will make adjustments to make sure the air/fuel ratio is correct. The Paradigm Plug will take time to fully synchronize itself with the engines computer management system. Sometimes it will happen quickly and other times a little more slower. Also, some very slight alterations may need to be done with the vehicles' oxygen sensor. Download the "Oxygen SensorAdjustment.pdf"
